Can this be placed on the outside of the window?

Yes, this can be used on the exterior as long as the exposure to the climate is not too intense. We always recommend using a thin bead of clear silicone to seal the edges on any film used outside after it has cured for a while. This will help ensure that nothing finds its way under the edges of the film.
