If applied properly, how long does the average static cling stay attached to the window?

As long as the film is installed in climate controlled conditions, and it's not disturbed except for cleaning once in a while, the film should stay on the glass until you remove it. If something does make it come loose, then it can be cleaned and re-applied if necessary.
