Can this be used on a shower like in the photos? Should it be applied to the inside or outside of the shower doors?

You would always want to use a static cling film on the outside of the glass, as long as it is smooth. Any time a film could come in contact with either running water or the overspray, you would want to choose a weather resistant adhesive film option.
